Thigh Slit Midi Skirts

A sexy look that rocked the runway at the likes of Prabal Gurung and Brandon Maxwell, the ever-popular midi skirt is getting an update for spring and it includes a sultry thigh-high slit. Style yours casually with a tee and add a pair of slouchy knee-high boots for the winter.

Here are some of our current favorite slit midi skirts.

Sheer Tulle

Show off some skin with one of springs coolest trends – sheer layers. We saw lots of sheer tulle fabrics on the runways for brands, such as Oscar De La Renta and Ulla Johnson and while it was definitely a sultry look, it was also full of romance. With ruffles, long sleeves and lots of layers, the sheer look for spring oozes high fashion vibes and lots of brands are already serving up this look if you want to get ahead.

Wear sheer dresses layered over simple slips or team them with jeans and a bralette for an edgy date night look.

Here are some of our fave sheer pieces right now.

Eccentric Polka Dots

Polka dots in spring is pretty iconic. But this season, brands like Carolina Herrera and Michael Kors were taking polka dots to the next level and sassing up the look with oversized and mixed prints and styling them with ruffles, puff sleeves and anything eccentric.

Start your obsession, here:

Luxe Draping

A gorgeous spring trend that works every season is beautifully feminine and luxe is fabric draping, as seen on the runway by Proenza Schouler and Sies Marjan. It’s all about creating a really expensive look so opt for a heavy fabric that naturally drapes and choose feminine, modest pieces with longer hemlines and higher necklines.

Try one of these luxe pieces to nail the draping trend before spring arrives.

Bright Green

Between lots of classic coloring like nudes, beige and black, bright green made a rare appearance for spring/summer 2020 by everyone from Victoria Beckham to Balenciaga. We loved this pop of color on the runway and it’s a super easy trend to grab hold of now. Think almost highlighter green for the right hue.

Intersperse a chic and simple look with a bold pop of green with these current fashion picks.

OTT Ruffles

Making a statement appearance at fashion month was seriously OTT ruffles and this is a trend we were absolutely loving. From Roksanda to Marc Jacobs, so many of our fave designers picked up on this spring trend and each one took the look to new heights. Using huge amounts of fabric, tiers and puff sleeves, the ruffles were shown on everything from evening wear to day tops.

We’ve picked out a few seriously cool ruffle pieces from the current collection on Shop It To Me.

Elevated Bralettes

From Givenchy to Cynthia Rowley, we saw lots of very cool and easy to wear bralette-style tops on the runways styled in different ways. We love a bralette top styled super casually but one of the main looks was the combination of an elevated bralette and beautiful tailoring. Would you give your tailoring a spring update like this? Perhaps the perfect date night look.

Here are a couple of our current faves.

Serious Fringing

Fringing in summer is always a winner for us. And this spring, the collections were packed with it. Oscar De La Renta and Christan Siriano showed us how to do it with style, and lots of other designers incorporated the look into their lines, proving that it’s a go-to trend for the new season.

Try subtle fringing on a top to test the trend out or go all out with a fringe dress at your next event.

Crochet

Crochet doesn’t always have to be for poolside or beach vibes. For spring, designers, such as Kate Spade, Jonathan Simkhai and even Zimmerman were showing off some serious crochet skills and we’re not gonna lie, we loved it. Style yours with anything from denim to leather to mix it up and make it work early just in time for winter.

Pleats on Everything

Pleated midi skirts have taken the fashion world by storm during 2019 but for spring and summer next year, it’s all about pleats on everything else too. Jonathan Simkhai, Marc Jacobs and Helmet Lang all showed off their pleat game at fashion month and we’re pretty sure it’s going to become an office staple that no one can deny.

Try it in advance of the new season with these fashion picks from Shop It To Me.

Very Short Shorts

Shorts are back! This spring, shorts are very short and we’re loving them. Think fashion’s major players, such as Hermès, Isabel Marant and Chanel and you’re on the right track. Get this look right and choose luxe tailored shorts or even leather and style them for winter with over the knee boots to get ahead of the fashion crowd.

These are just a few of our fave short shorts that you could try now.
