Maternity Outfit Inspo To Take You From Winter to Spring

What to Wear If You’re Expecting

Trying to find outfit inspiration in the weird time between winter and spring can be tricky. Throw dressing a bump for the first time into the mix and it is downright hard work!

When you’re expecting, trying to decide what to wear should definitely not be the thing keeping you up at night. Leave that to the heartburn, restless legs or aching hips!! So – if you’ve found yourself struggling with maternity outfit inspiration of late, we thought we’d dedicate a blog to helping you out.

Here are some of our fave outfits found on the Gram from some of our most stylish – and pregnant – bloggers and influencers. Plus, we’ve scoured our partners on Shop It To Me so you can recreate the look.

Maternity Outfits for Spring

From Emrata to some of the top UK fashion bloggers, we’re taking our inspo across the globe for Spring.

The Matching Two-Piece

Yes, Emily Ratajkowski’s outfit is sheer and that’s not for everyone. But we’re still so into this look. Sheerness aside, the matching two-piece set that looks like a jumpsuit vibe is perfection. It’s so easy to create – especially when you choose black – and it’s super versatile for any time between winter and spring.

The best thing about black? Everything looks like a two-piece.

Leggings are the way forward when you’re pregnant. They’re the ultimate comfort when you don’t feel like worrying about a waistband that digs in over or under the bump. Plus, they pretty much pair with anything else in your wardrobe. A maternity staple. But sometimes, they just feel boring. Spice yours up by opting for these flared leggings. All the comfort but they look and feel a little more like pants.

Plus, they look super similar to the Emrata vibes in the outfit above.

Pair the leggings with a matching black long sleeve top or even an oversized black tee and it just looks like a chic coordinating two-piece without any effort. Because let’s be honest, simplicity is your friend when you’re struggling to get yourself dressed.

While Emrata chooses heels, we’d stick to simple white sneakers or super comfy but on-trend Birkenstocks.

The Monochrome Trend

This season, monochrome statement pieces are big. And it’s actually a really simple and stylish way to keep up with the trends while you’re pregnant without trying too hard! Take this super chic cardigan outfit from UK fashion blogger, Sinead Crowe. Opting for an oversized knit, the outfit couldn’t be simpler, but because of the color blocking it looks stylish and bold.

Create the look yourself.

We LOVE this half and half monochrome sweater dress from ASOS. Giving us this on-trend look in one easy piece (which makes it even better!), it’s minimal yet bold. Perfect for this time of year, too.

We’d style this up with Dr Martens for a comfortable but edgy look that works for pretty much any day out.

And the bucket hat? Well, that’s totally up to you.

The Midi Skirt

The midi skirt is your friend through pregnancy, especially one with a stretchy waistband that fits over the bump as you grow. We love this look created by fashion influencer, Dede Raad A.K.A dressupbuttercup.

We LOVE this one from Banana Republic. Not a maternity style but with an elastic waist, who cares!

Pair it with a simple white tee and finish with your fave leather biker.

All The Layers

We love a layered look at any time. But when it comes to maternity dressing, we love it even more. And fashion and beauty blogger, Corrie Bromfield nails the type of layers we’re into. Think leather pants and plaid shirts all the way. But leather pants when you’re pregnant? Surely not!? Well, we say yes! And here’s how.

Opt for super comfortable, over the bump stretch leather-look leggings and you’re good to go!

This pair from ASOS are ideal.

If you’re not sure about the leather-effect fabric, these amazing high-waist Koral leggings are the perfect alternative. They’re all about the stretch and they’re much more of a legging than a pant. But the lustrous fabric gives them a slightly dressier feel.

When it comes to the shirt, you don’t need to search maternity. Just opt for oversized and if you want it super slouchy, then just size up. We’re obsessed with this black and white Norma Kamali one.

Finish with the same boots or Birkenstocks from our previous looks. We’re all about mix and match instead of buying too much.
